BASS COAST BUILDERS

Why Build With Bass Coast Builders?
Building in a Growing Town
Wonthaggi is growing quickly, with new estates, young families and the beaches at Cape Paterson and Harmers Haven just down the road. More people are choosing to build new or knock down and rebuild here, and that's where planning matters most. We help Wonthaggi clients build solid, energy-efficient family homes designed for the block they're on, not a standard plan squeezed onto it.
Designed Around How You Live.
Every home starts with a clear brief and a realistic budget. We work with you and your designer from the first sketch, so the site, the budget and the design line up before construction starts, and the home you move into is the one you planned.
Workmanship That Holds Up.
Our own carpenters run the build, backed by local trades we know and trust. We use proven methods and materials chosen for coastal conditions, and we check each stage before moving on, so the finished home is solid, well sealed and easy to live in for years to come.
Straight Answers, All the Way Through.
You'll always know where your build is up to, what's coming next and who to call. We keep in regular contact, explain decisions in plain language and raise issues early, so there are no surprises along the way.
One-Off Homes, Not Standard Plans.
No two blocks or families are the same, so no two of our homes are either. We build to your design, whether it comes from your own architect or a designer we work with, and make sure every room suits your site, your views and the way you use your home.
A Home That Keeps Performing.
A comfortable, efficient home that still feels right years after you move in. That's the goal on every project we take on.

Our Process
Architecturally Designed. Expertly Built. Personally Delivered.
Plan it properly. Price it early. Build it well.
For Bass Coast Builders, how you get there matters as much as the finished home. We involve the builder from day one, so you know what your design will cost before plans are locked in, not after.
Early Builder Involvement brings you, your designer, the engineer and the builder together from the start, so ideas are checked for cost and practicality before they're drawn up in detail.
That's how we keep projects on track and homes built properly.
01
Start With a Clear Plan
It starts with a conversation about how you live, how you want your home to feel and what you'd like to spend. From there we map out each stage of the project, so you know what happens when and which decisions are coming up.
Getting this clear early means we can make good decisions together and keep the design, the budget and your expectations lined up from day one.

02
Early Builder Involvement: Bringing the Builder In Sooner
In the usual approach, plans are drawn up first and priced last. Too often the quotes come back over budget and the design has to be redrawn, costing time and money.
With Early Builder Involvement, we join the project while the design is still taking shape. Practical building knowledge goes into the design, so cost and buildability are weighed up alongside the look and layout, and you'll have a clear idea of the build cost well before the drawings are finished.
Each design choice is checked against your budget and how it will actually be built. That way what's on paper is something we can deliver, and you avoid the delays and redesign costs that come from finding problems late.

03
Clear Pricing and a Realistic Program
No surprises is the aim.
Cost planning happens during design, so you can see where the money is going, what your selections cost and how long each stage will take. We bring our regular trades and suppliers in early to price the work properly and book key stages ahead of time.
That means fewer surprises, a program you can plan around and a smoother run through to handover, because your time and your money matter.

05
Set Up Right From the Start.
Working with Bass Coast Builders gives you a clearer, better-planned and far less stressful way to build.
Bringing design and construction together early helps you avoid costly surprises and keeps the finished home true to what you asked for.
Plan well, build well and enjoy the result for years to come.

04
A Smooth Build Through to Handover
By the time we start on site, permits, documentation, selections and scheduling are already sorted.
Our site team runs each stage carefully and keeps you in the loop. You'll also have access to your build schedule online, so you can follow progress and see any changes as they happen.
We keep in regular contact and check each stage before moving on to the next. From the first day on site to the day we hand over the keys, the aim is a home that's well built, feels right from day one and lasts.
